Established in 1987, Central Florida Woodturners is an organization created to provide local woodturners with woodturning demonstrations, information, and ongoing education while sharing in a social and interactive environment.

Central Florida Woodturners meet monthly and host a variety of special events throughout the year, including making ornaments for a very special Christmas tree at the Orlando Museum of Art’s “Festival of Trees” each year. The trees are auctioned and the proceeds are donated to various charities.

Our Christmas tree at the Festival adorned with wooden ornaments turned by our club members!

The Central Florida Woodturners and the AAW also support the “Beads of Courage” program. The CFWT contributions are managed locally working with local children’s hospitals.

CFWT is a local chapter of the American Association of Woodturners. The AAW is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, headquartered in Saint Paul, MN, dedicated to advancing the art and craft of woodturning worldwide by providing opportunities for education, information, and organization to those interested in turning wood.

Established in 1986, AAW currently has more than 16,000 members and a network of over 365 local chapters globally!
